What did Germany, Italy, Japan, and the Soviet Union have in common during the World War II era?

They were all members of the Axis Powers (though the Soviet Union left and joined the Allies after Hitler invaded). They were also led by dictators. Germany and Italy both were led by fascist dictators (Hitler and Mussolini), the Soviet Union by a communist dictator (Stalin) and Japan by an emperor (Hirohito), who was thought by many Japanese people to be divine.
