so as you can see, the figure is really just 3 rectangles and 2 triangles.
the rectangles are 5x7, another 5x7, and the one at the bottom is a 6x7.
the triangles have a base of 6, a height of 4.
so, just the area of each, add them up, and that's the area of the figure.
