Matt spent 1/5 of his money on a concert ticket. He spent $60 on a new jacket and $2.50 for bus fare. He reached home with $17.50. How much did he have to begin with?

17.50 + 2.50 + 60 = 80 
And if Matt spent 1/5 of his money, the rest of the money is 4/5ths of the total.
4/5 = 80/100 and he has $80 so he had a total of $100.
