First we can find the slope using (y1-y2)/(x1-x2)

(9+7)/(4+4) = 2

Now we can plug the slope and one of the points into y - y1 = m(x-x1)

y - 9 = 2(x -4)

Then solve for y

y - 9 = 2x - 8

y = 2x + 1
