I think the correct answer would be carbon. It is the Carbon cycle that is relied upon for plant photosynthesis. One of the important substance needed for photosynthesis to occur is carbon dioxide so it should be involved in the carbon cycle.

carbon because we breath out carbon and plants eat it bascially
