The Morrill Tariff of 1861 was an import tariff in the United States, adopted on March 2, 1861, during the administration of President James Buchanan, he was a Democrat. It was the twelfth of seventeen planks in the platform of the incoming Republican Party. From what I remember lol Hope this helps! :D
