People believe it is derived from natural organic accumulations such as peat bogs, marshes, and swamps that became buried. A con of coal is it is not a renewable resource. It takes centuries for coal to be produced and these conditions cannot be synthesized. A pro of coal is that coal does not require an expensive or complicated form of secondary technology in order to be converted into useful energy.
