There's really no way to "expand" the following expression, 7 (2x - 5) but when you solve for x the second step is in its biggest form it can go. I will write down ALL steps:
7 (2x - 5)
= (7) (2x + -5)
= (7) (2x) + (7) (-5) <====
= 14x - 35
