A ham is cured with 12 grams of salt. Salt has a density of 2.16 g/cm³. What is the volume of salt in the ham?

Known :

m = 12 gr

ρ = 2.16 gr/cm³

Solution :

We know that density is mass divided by it's volume

ρ = m/V

Rearrange the equation, we get

V = m/ρ

Plug in the value, we will get

V = (12 gr)/(2.16 gr/cm³)

V = 5.55 cm³
