Are the 2 lines:

y = 4x - 3 and y = (1/4)x +3

Parallel, Perpendicular, or Neither?
Please let me know an explanation would be great I hate my math teach but thank you!

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Both equations are in slope-intercept form, so the coefficient of x is the slope of the line.

y = 4x-3

slope = 4

y = (¼)x + 3

slope = ¼

If the slope are the same, the lines are parallel. If the product of the slopes = -1, the lines are perpendicular.

4×¼ = 1

The lines are neither parallel nor perpendicular.

I’m pretty sure it’s perpendicular
