remember you can do anything to an equation as long as you do it to boht sides

8-8m=8m+56
add 8m to both sides
8+8m-8m=8m+8m+56
8+0=16m+56
8=16m+56
minus 56 both sides
-48=16m
divide both sides by 16
-3=m
